Cancellation Policy

Renter Cancellation

1. Upcoming Reservation

If the reservation has not yet started, the renter can cancel it directly through their ABC AUTOCARS Account by following these steps:
  • Go to the Current Reservation section.
  • Select the reservation you wish to cancel.
  • Tap View Details, then scroll to the bottom and press Cancel.
  • The cancellation will be applied immediately.
2. Active (In-Progress) Reservation

If the reservation has already started, cancellation is available only by email request:

  • The cancellation request must be sent from the same email address used when the reservation was originally submitted.
  • ⚠️ Requests sent from other email addresses or made by phone call will not be accepted for security and verification reasons.

The request must include:

  • Reservation number (#)
  • Reason for cancellation
  • Desired date and time of cancellation
If the renter has not checked in or has not taken possession of the vehicle
  • the cancellation will be applied immediately or at the requested time, depending on the renter’s instructions.
If the renter has checked in and currently possesses an ABC AUTOCARS vehicle
  • the cancellation may take effect within 4 hours or more from the time the email is received, and may only be approved once the vehicle is returned.
Important:
  • Whether the renter receives a full refund, a partial refund, or no refund at all depends on the specific circumstances.
  • The total refund amount is determined by when the renter cancels the booking, the length of the booking, and the type of booking.
  • All cancellation periods are calculated based on the vehicle’s local time zone.

Free Cancellation Period

  • Up to 24 hours before the booking start time;
  • Within one hour after booking, if the booking was made less than 25 hours before the start time;
Important:

If a renter requests a booking modification and ABC AUTOCARS approves it, that modification does not reset the free cancellation period. The period remains tied to the original booking time.

Renters are only eligible for a full refund if they:

  • Do not accept the vehicle;
  • Do not check in for the booking, and
  • Immediately contact ABC AUTOCARS by email to report the issue.

Cancellations outside the free period

-If a Renter wants to cancel a booking after check in, we encourage them to notify ABC AUTOCARS via Email messaging as soon as possible. We’ll issue a partial refund to Renter who cancel in this manner and do not fall within the free cancellation period.
– For canceled bookings longer than two days, we will refund the renter the booking price and booking fee, minus the cost of one average day, the protection plan, any extras, and any young driver fee.
The delivery fee is non-refundable. If delivery was originally free, we will deduct the displayed delivery fee
– For canceled booking that are two days or shorter, we’ll refund the Renter the booking price and booking fee minus half the average of one day’s cost, the protection plan, any Extras, any young driver fee,

Renter no-show

– If a Renter fails to cancel and doesn’t show up for the booking within 30 minutes of the booking’s scheduled start time, it’s a client no-show.
– A Renter who shows up to a booking with no license, with an invalid license, or who sends their Additional driver in their place is also a Renter no-show. ABC AUTOCARS will cancel Renter no-show booking, and we’ll issue the Renter a partial refund.
– For no-show booking that are longer than two days, we’ll refund the Renter their booking price and booking fee minus the average of two days’ cost, the protection plan, any Extras, any young driver fee, and half of any delivery fee.
– For no-show booking that are two days or shorter, we’ll refund the Renter their booking price and booking fee minus the average of one day’s cost, the protection plan, any Extras, any young driver fee, and half of any delivery fee.
– In the event ABC AUTOCARS makes a good faith attempt to reschedule the booking, but both Renter and ABC AUTOCARS are unable to agree on a satisfactory booking modification and the booking must be canceled, ABC AUTOCARS will earnings as though it were a client no-show.

Exceptions

-Exceptions to the Renter refund amounts for cancellations outside the free period and for no-shows may apply in the event of a
- flight delay ;
- flight cancellations ;
- lost baggage issue ;
- extenuating circumstances.

No refund

There are no credits/refunds issued for early returns except when the Renter has submitted a booking modification request to shorten their booking and ABC AUTOCARS has accepted through the Email, as defined in ABC AUTOCARS Terms of service

Booking canceled by ABC AUTOCARS

In some cases, ABC AUTOCARS’s trust and safety team will cancel a Renter’s booking. If that were to happen, ABC AUTOCARS will contact the Renter, and issue the Renter a full refund. In these instances, ABC AUTOCARS is available to help renter rebook 24/7.
